Double Wear, Double Points!!!

Image
Finally my (long awaited, or not depending on you) Esteé Lauder Double Wear foundation! So like normal I'll show you what the claims of the foundation are and the my experience with it along with some photos! The foundation claims from their website ( http://www.esteelauder.co.uk/product/631/3894/product-catalog/makeup/double-wear/stay-in-place-makeup-spf-10#/shade/1C0-Shell ) This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity and nonstop activity. It feels lightweight and comfortable and won't change colour, smudge or come off on clothes. Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day.  ** straight from the page itself** Now here's for the real deal. I originally got this to compare it to the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation  because they have very similar claims and finishes. In my opinion I preferred the Double Wear  over the All Nighter  mainly because I love the fac...

Heart of Darkness

Heart Of Darkness - Joesph Conrad Genre: Novella Pages: 72 Rating: 2/5 Format: Messy _______________________________________________________________________________ Do not be deceived by the length of this book, despite its mere 72 pages it has taken me over a week to get to where I am at  (I managed to get to just over 1/2). I feel like this story has so much going for it, reading the overviews and summaries online I was really intrigued but the way that Conrad has chosen to write this ruins it  for me. Following the lecture that I just had on this, I definitely feel that this is almost biographical of Conrad's own experiences, using this reading it is understandable why the format is so messy. It can be suggested that his language use is there to accurately represent the events of the novella. If you are someone that likes the more challenging reads than this is definitely for you, I just could not get to grips with his modernist style. I l...

WHY L'Oreal Skincare is just AMAZING!

Image
If you are a follower of mine (especially on instagram) you already know that I am a huge fan of L'oreal's new skincare range!! After it being recommended to me by a close friend I thought that I would try it out, and now I am hooked! I used to be a fan of the T-Zone products (I still love them they are definitely tried and tested) Photo Credit:  http://www.nytrendymoms.com/2016/07/loreal-paris-pure-clay-mask-review.html I will talk briefly of the masks as I have already discussed them  here , I am currently using the Glow and the Brightening mask. I do feel like my skin has a newer glow/brightness to it as well as clearness however it is subtle. But I have definitely noticed a change in skin texture and feel, my skin feels smoother and my pores are smaller but still there. I am also using the charcoal face wash, which I love as well and it smells like fresh heaven. Now to the holy grail for all those with combination to oily skin!!! Drum roll pleaseeeeeeeee...

All Nighter Foundation - True or False?

Image
Photo Credit:  http://www.behonestbeauty.com/2016/08/first-look-urban-decay-all-nighter.html Photo Credit:  https://www.temptalia.com/urban-decay-all-nighter-foundation-review-photos-swatches/ (Disclaimer: I am too poor to actually buy the foundation so I bagged myself a cheeky tester, LOL!) The counter person matched me with shade 6.0 originally (which I thought was a little too light but she did say that it does oxidise) and then I tried out 7.0 which matched my skin tone perfectly but I am yet to wear it out for a full day.  I have tried out shade 6.0 and it did oxidise to perfectly match my skin (so I probably wont try the 7.0).  Also a good thing to note is that because it is a matt foundation you have a very small window to work with the product, I would recommend working in small sections with a brush and then going over everything with a damp sponge (to smoothen). Here's a list of pro's and con's but these all depend on skin tone and type a...

The Time George Orwell Blew My MIND!

Image
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four) - George Orwell Genre: Dystopia/Political Fiction Pages: 342 Rating: 4/5 Format: 3rd person Standard Narrative _________________________________________________________________________________ I feel that this novel has a slow beginning with Orwell explaining all of the dystopian terms to the reader as well as emphasising the age and condition of the main character, Winston (despite the slow start I love the effort that has been put into creating this world it makes it more enjoyable) I think for the time of writing, this novel is definitely ahead of its time! I love how Orwell contrasts the dullness of the society with the brightness of Winston's fantasies and and relationship. I do find that there is not enough depth to the characters but I get that the novel is more about the collective and not so much the individual, Winston is just a representation of the larger. Overall I would most definitely recommend this thought provoking novel! ...
